Embracing Shadows

Down the dark green wall-papered halls,
Where each door shares a dancing shadow,
Whose waving arms still strain to embrace
The ones inside who weep alone in space.
Their weeping tears filling holes in wounded hearts,
While each dancing shadow turns past painted doors,
Turning past posted names of soul-mated pairs,
Passing, Bill and Marie, Ceil and me, Mack and Claire.
Then, disappearing at first shaft of morning sun
Flooding through tall windows of open glass,
Flowing together into a single dancing flood
Like a sacred drop of spilling blood:
Dropping into a silent red wine colored sea,
Awaiting the next nights' shadow embracing me.
