Olene Dare Nickels-Atkins Love visions floating like wavy pictures
Projected on the white wall of my mind

A college dance invitation
A beauty in a pink dress

The time of first kiss parting
Smitten with first love's magic

Remembering Pearl Harbor
The whole world changing

A marriage twelve days later
Love lettes overseas

Floating pictures of a baby boy
Then, two more

A new home: a traveling job
A phone call to my hotel at midnight

Hurry home: Unexpected hospital
During two hour drive home: you left

World changing again
Knowing love has no death

Marriage January 1, 1972 Concealing a broken heart
With a blanket of work

Two years of single life vision
Then, in same town as first school dance

A friend introduces a friend
She and I swore: no new life partners

We married on New Year's day
For thirty-five years we have been in a spin

"Loving the spin we are in
That old black magic called Love"
