Peter Nickels:
Born March 17, 1832 in Scott County, Virginia.
Died July 3, 1929 near Snowflake in Scott County, Virginia.
Peter was a Civil War Veteran (Company A of the 22nd Virginia Cavalry).
He was wounded while a courier in Monroe County, Virginia.
On December 17, 1857 Peter's first marriage was to Hannah Margaret Dean in Scott County, Virginia.
Hannah was born on February 21, 1833 in Scott County, Virginia.
Hannah died on October 18, 1877 in Scott County, Virginia.
Hannah is buried at Point Truth Primitive Baptist Church near Nickeslville, Virginia.
On April 18, 1888 Peter's second married was to Maria Cosby Addington-Quillen in Scott County, Virginia.
Maria was born August 20, 1845.
Maria died on August 4, 1927.
In 1887 Peter joined the Primitive Baptist Church at Copper Creek where he remained a member until his death.
Peter and Maria are both buried at Addington Frame Church in Scott County, Virginia.
Peter and Hannah had 5 children as follows:
  1. John Henry Nickels.
    Born September 19, 1858 in Scott County, Virginia.
    Died October 31, 1949 in Scott County, Virginia.
    On September 13, 1879 John married Elizabeth Muncus in Nickelsville, Virginia.
  2. David Marion "T" Nickels.
    Born about 1862 in Scott County, Virginia.
    Died in 1928 in Nickelsville, Scott County, Virginia.
    On January 22, 1891 David married Mary Ellen Nickels in Nickelsville, Virginia.
  3. Charles Franklin Nickels:
    Born November 22, 1865 in Scott County, Virginia.
    Died August 1, 1957 in Greenville, Hunt County, Texas.
    On December 29, 1887 Charles married Sarah Ann Towe in Russell County, Virginia.
    Sarah was born February 23, 1868 in Carroll County, Virginia.
    Sarah died on February 2, 1958 in Greenville, Hunt County, Texas.
    Charles and Sarah are buried at Forest Park Cemetery in Greenville, Texas.
  4. Mary Louise "Dovie" Nickels:
    Born January 12, 1872.
    Died December 17, 1899 during childbirth with her premature baby.
    Mary married J. N. Nickels.
  5. Walter Barlow "Dock" Nickels.
    Born 1875 in Scott County, Virginia.
    Died 1950 in San Bernadino, California.
    Walter married Letttie Boggs.
