Long-term economic prosperity cannot be achieved unless it is built on a solid foundation. That solid foundation consists of four pillars: governments, businesses, religions, and banks.

Each pillar is a key element in the prosperity of a nation and this includes its government, its businesses, it religions, its banks, and ultimately its citizens. When one or more of the pillars is missing or is unnecessarily restricted then that nation will not experience long-term financial prosperity.

All nations have some form of government, some type of business entities, some type of banking system, and some form of religion. It is not enough to just have the appearance of all four of the pillars. Each of the four pillars must be independent of the other pillars and each pillar needs to function in a manner that is harmonious to a higher standard of living for everyone within that nation. If any pillar decides that it is the only important pillar of that society, and that only the individuals who are part of that pillar are important, then the entire society suffers. Even though the members of the selfish pillar may have a higher standard of living compared to the individuals in the other three pillars in their society, their standard of living will be significantly lower than the standard of living of their peers in other societies that have a reasonable balance between the four pillars.

The purpose of this book is to explain how to achieve a reasonable balance between all four pillars. The solution is relatively simple and it can be understood by almost anyone even if that person does not have a legal background, or a business background, or a religious background, or a financial background.

This book presents a simple common-sense answer to how long-term financial prosperity can be achieved by any nation if that nation is willing to take a honest look at how it manages its four pillars of prosperity.

Finally, please allow me to explain why I believe I am qualified to write a book such as this one.

I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from Virginia Polytechnic State University, and a Master of Business Administration Degree with a Major in Marketing from Georgia State University. I have taken college courses in Management, Economics, Accounting, Money and Banking, Marketing, Engineering, and Statistics.

I am a licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) and I have been employed as an Engineer in the following industries: Apparel, Textile, Pharmaceuticals, Medical Devices, and Eyeglass Lenses.
