What makes Christianity unique from other religions?
In my opinion, five things make Christianity special. Let's examine them one at a time.
------------
First, Jesus instructed His followers to live in peace with all people, to the extent that other people would let them. Jesus commanded His followers to simply tell others about Him - they were not to persecute or otherwise intimidate anyone who chose not to believe in Him. Jesus said each person has the right to believe or not to believe. And He did not give his followers permission to kill those who decided not to believe in Him. He said their fate would be left to God on their day of Judgment. (Matthew 10:14-15, Matthew 26:52)
------------
Second, Jesus said He and God were One. He didn't say He was anointed to preach, or that He was a special prophet of God. Jesus said He was God visiting the Earth in human form (John 10:30, John 14:1). In addition, Jesus said He had the power to forgive sin (Matthew 9:2-8) and no one could enter Heaven unless they believed in Him (John 14:6).
------------
Third, Jesus healed multitudes of sick people during His three-year ministry here on Earth. This included many adults who had been born blind, deaf, and lame. The friends of these unfortunate people could attest to the fact that they had known them all their lives, and they had always been blind, deaf, or lame. These were not fake miracles performed to gather followers. The miracles of healing that Jesus performed were real. The people who saw these miracles knew they were real, because they had personally known these sick people for 20 years or longer (Luke 5:5-9; Luke 9:1-41; Matthew 21:18-20). And Jesus healed all these people without using surgery. He simply spoke to them and told them they were healed. Even today, with all of our modern medicine and science, we cannot transform a person's deformed, withered hand into a normal, healthy hand (Luke 6:6-11).
------------
Fourth, Jesus has power over life and death. The Bible records three occasions when Jesus restored the life to a dead human being:
Jesus proved He has absolute control over both life and death.
------------
Fifth, after Jesus was beaten, whipped, crucified (bleed to death), and had his internal organs cut open with a spear, He was buried in a borrowed grave. Roman guards were stationed at the sealed entrance to His grave. But the grave could not hold Him. After three days, His Spirit returned to take possession of His physical body, and He appeared in His body to His disciples and to over 500 other people (1 Corinthians 15:3-8). No other religion can say that the founder of their faith had the power to reenter and take possession of his own body after he was dead and buried. (Note: Except, perhaps, for the AntiChrist who will appear at the end of this age.)
------------
In conclusion, only Christianity can make all five of the above claims. Some religions can't even make one of these claims. In my opinion, Christianity is the only true religion of the one and only living God. In fact, the Christian faith can be so powerful that the devil frequently deceives multitudes of people into believing they are Christians when they are not. A true Christian believes the ENTIRE BIBLE is the Word of God and that it should not be replaced by the rules or regulations written anywhere else. Jesus warned the Jews of His day that they had drifted away from God's Original Word because they were following the rules and regulations of their scribes and Pharisees instead of the Original Word of God. (Matthew 16:12, Matthew 23:16-22) A real Christian accepts the entire Bible as it was originally written as being TRUE, without any subsequent additions, modifications, or deletions.
